About Big Easy Mopar Member of the Month
The Bailey Crew
Ricky, Dayna, Destin, Hannah, & Selena Bailey have been in the Big Easy Mopar Club since it was established. Ricky was in the original club years ago. We have a 1966 Dodge Coronet (acquired from Stan in 2002) that has the original paint and interior with some upgrades: aftermarket rims, and a 360 small block engine that Ricky use to race in a Datsun 280Z for some time until transferring it into a 1974 Dodge Dart Sport race car. Ricky had his Dart for about 12 years until Hannah & Selena were ready to race and he sold his car to purchase another Jr. Dragster, so both of the girls would have their own car to race.
Destin is 14 an has a 2009 Mike Bos Jr. Dragster with a Briggs & Stratton motor on steroids that runs in the 1/8 of a mile at 85 mph in 7.90 seconds and has been racing since he was 9. Hannah has a 2003 Hardens Jr. Dragster and Selena has a 2004 Hardens and both of them have a Briggs & Stratton motor on steroids that runs in the 1/8 of a mile at 75 mph in 8.90 seconds. They are both 11 and have been racing since they were 8. Our weekends are normally spent traveling with the kids to race at different tracks due to their dad’s motto, “Due well in school and you can race, but get a C on you report card and SEE your car in the trailer because it is not coming out.”
Ricky works on gear boxes on offshore boats, and I am in college going for my degree as a Registered Nurse. Ricky has been a Mopar/Racing fan for many years and it was only natural for the rest of the family to play along with him.
